Zechariah 9

KJV

1  The burden4853 of the word1697 of the LORD3068 in the land776 of Hadrach,2317 and Damascus1834 shall be the rest4496 thereof: when3588 the eyes5869 of man,120 as of all3605 the tribes7626 of Israel,3478 shall be toward the LORD.3068

2  And Hamath2574 also1571 shall border1379 thereby; Tyrus,6865 and Zidon,6721 though3588 it be very3966 wise.2449

3  And Tyrus6865 did build1129 herself a stronghold,4692 and heaped up6651 silver3701 as the dust,6083 and fine gold2742 as the mire2916 of the streets.2351

4  Behold,2009 the Lord136 will cast her out,3423 and he will smite5221 her power2428 in the sea;3220 and she1931 shall be devoured398 with fire.784

5  Ashkelon831 shall see7200 it, and fear;3372 Gaza5804 also shall see it, and be very sorrowful,3966 2342 and Ekron;6138 for3588 her expectation4007 shall be ashamed;954 and the king4428 shall perish6 from Gaza,4480 5804 and Ashkelon831 shall not3808 be inhabited.3427

6  And a bastard4464 shall dwell3427 in Ashdod,795 and I will cut off3772 the pride1347 of the Philistines.6430

7  And I will take away5493 his blood1818 out of his mouth,4480 6310 and his abominations8251 from between4480 996 his teeth:8127 but he that remaineth,7604 even1571 he,1931 shall be for our God,430 and he shall be1961 as a governor441 in Judah,3063 and Ekron6138 as a Jebusite.2983

8  And I will encamp2583 about mine house1004 because of the army,4675 because of him that passeth by,4480 5674 and because of him that returneth:4480 7725 and no3808 oppressor5065 shall pass5674 through5921 them any more:5750 for3588 now6258 have I seen7200 with mine eyes.5869

9  Rejoice1523 greatly,3966 O daughter1323 of Zion;6726 shout,7321 O daughter1323 of Jerusalem:3389 behold,2009 thy King4428 cometh935 unto thee: he1931 is just,6662 and having salvation;3467 lowly,6041 and riding7392 upon5921 an ass,2543 and upon5921 a colt5895 the foal1121 of an ass.860

10  And I will cut off3772 the chariot7393 from Ephraim,4480 669 and the horse5483 from Jerusalem,4480 3389 and the battle4421 bow7198 shall be cut off:3772 and he shall speak1696 peace7965 unto the heathen:1471 and his dominion4915 shall be from sea4480 3220 even to5704 sea,3220 and from the river4480 5104 even to5704 the ends657 of the earth.776

11  As for thee859 also,1571 by the blood1818 of thy covenant1285 I have sent forth7971 thy prisoners615 out of the pit4480 953 wherein is no369 water.4325

12  Turn7725 you to the stronghold,1225 ye prisoners615 of hope:8615 even1571 today3117 do I declare5046 that I will render7725 double4932 unto thee;

13  When3588 I have bent1869 Judah3063 for me, filled4390 the bow7198 with Ephraim,669 and raised5782 up thy sons,1121 O Zion,6726 against5921 thy sons,1121 O Greece,3120 and made7760 thee as the sword2719 of a mighty man.1368

14  And the LORD3068 shall be seen7200 over5921 them, and his arrow2671 shall go forth3318 as the lightning:1300 and the Lord136 GOD3069 shall blow8628 the trumpet,7782 and shall go1980 with whirlwinds5591 of the south.8486

15  The LORD3068 of hosts6635 shall defend1598 5921 them; and they shall devour,398 and subdue3533 with slingstones;7050 68 and they shall drink,8354 and make a noise1993 as through3644 wine;3196 and they shall be filled4390 like bowls,4219 and as the corners2106 of the altar.4196

16  And the LORD3068 their God430 shall save3467 them in that1931 day3117 as the flock6629 of his people:5971 for3588 they shall be as the stones68 of a crown,5145 lifted up as an ensign5264 upon5921 his land.127

17  For3588 how4100 great is his goodness,2898 and how4100 great is his beauty!3308 corn1715 shall make the young men970 cheerful,5107 and new wine8492 the maids.1330

1 [Onus verbi Domini in terra Hadrach

assumpserunt quippe sibi sapientiam valde.

3 Et ædificavit Tyrus munitionem suam,
et coacervavit argentum quasi humum,
et aurum ut lutum platearum.

4 Ecce Dominus possidebit eam:

quia nunc vidi in oculis meis.]

9 [Exsulta satis, filia Sion;
jubila, filia Jerusalem:
ecce rex tuus veniet tibi justus, et salvator:
ipse pauper, et ascendens super asinam
et super pullum filium asinæ.

10 Et disperdam quadrigam ex Ephraim,
et equum de Jerusalem,
et dissipabitur arcus belli:
et loquetur pacem gentibus,
et potestas ejus a mari usque ad mare,
et a fluminibus usque ad fines terræ.

11 Tu quoque in sanguine testamenti tui

hodie quoque annuntians duplicia reddam tibi.

13 Quoniam extendi mihi Judam quasi arcum:
implevi Ephraim:
et suscitabo filios tuos, Sion,
super filios tuos, Græcia:
et ponam te quasi gladium fortium.

14 Et Dominus Deus super eos videbitur,
et exibit ut fulgur jaculum ejus:
et Dominus Deus in tuba canet,
et vadet in turbine austri.

15 Dominus exercituum proteget eos:
et devorabunt, et subjicient lapidibus fundæ:
et bibentes inebriabuntur quasi a vino,
et replebuntur ut phialæ,
et quasi cornua altaris.

16 Et salvabit eos Dominus Deus eorum in die illa,
ut gregem populi sui,
quia lapides sancti elevabuntur super terram ejus.

17 Quid enim bonum ejus est,
et quid pulchrum ejus,
nisi frumentum electorum,
et vinum germinans virgines?]
