1  In the year⁸¹⁴¹ that king⁴⁴²⁸ Uzziah⁵⁸¹⁸ died⁴¹⁹⁴ I saw⁷²⁰⁰ also ⁸⁵³ the Lord¹³⁶ sitting³⁴²⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ a throne,³⁶⁷⁸ high⁷³¹¹ and lifted up,⁵³⁷⁵ and his train⁷⁷⁵⁷ filled^{4390 853} the temple.¹⁹⁶⁴

2  Above^{4480 4605} it stood⁵⁹⁷⁵ the seraphims:⁸³¹⁴ each one²⁵⁹ had six wings^{8337 3671 8337 3671} with twain⁸¹⁴⁷ he covered³⁶⁸⁰ his face,⁶⁴⁴⁰ and with twain⁸¹⁴⁷ he covered³⁶⁸⁰ his feet,⁷²⁷² and with twain⁸¹⁴⁷ he did fly.⁵⁷⁷⁴

3  And one cried⁷¹²¹ unto^{413 2088} another,²⁰⁸⁸ and said,⁵⁵⁹ Holy,⁶⁹¹⁸ holy,⁶⁹¹⁸ holy,⁶⁹¹⁸ is the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts:⁶⁶³⁵ the whole³⁶⁰⁵ earth⁷⁷⁶ is full⁴³⁹³ of his glory.³⁵¹⁹

4  And the posts⁵²⁰ of the door⁵⁵⁹² moved⁵¹²⁸ at the voice^{4480 6963} of him that cried,⁷¹²¹ and the house¹⁰⁰⁴ was filled⁴³⁹⁰ with smoke.⁶²²⁷

5  Then said⁵⁵⁹ I, Woe¹⁸⁸ is me! for³⁵⁸⁸ I am undone;¹⁸²⁰ because³⁵⁸⁸ I⁵⁸⁹ am a man³⁷⁶ of unclean²⁹³¹ lips,⁸¹⁹³ and I⁵⁸⁹ dwell³⁴²⁷ in the midst⁸⁴³² of a people⁵⁹⁷¹ of unclean²⁹³¹ lips:⁸¹⁹³ for³⁵⁸⁸ mine eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ have seen^{7200 853} the King,⁴⁴²⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.⁶⁶³⁵

6  Then flew⁵⁷⁷⁴ one²⁵⁹ of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the seraphims⁸³¹⁴ unto⁴¹³ me, having a live coal⁷⁵³¹ in his hand,³⁰²⁷ which he had taken³⁹⁴⁷ with the tongs⁴⁴⁵⁷ from off^{4480 5921} the altar:⁴¹⁹⁶

7  And he laid⁵⁰⁶⁰ it upon⁵⁹²¹ my mouth,⁶³¹⁰ and said,⁵⁵⁹ Lo,²⁰⁰⁹ this²⁰⁸⁸ hath touched^{5060 5921} thy lips;⁸¹⁹³ and thine iniquity⁵⁷⁷¹ is taken away,⁵⁴⁹³ and thy sin²⁴⁰³ purged.³⁷²²

8  Also I heard^{8085 853} the voice⁶⁹⁶³ of the Lord,¹³⁶ saying,^{559 853} Whom⁴³¹⁰ shall I send,⁷⁹⁷¹ and who⁴³¹⁰ will go¹⁹⁸⁰ for us? Then said⁵⁵⁹ I, Here am I;²⁰⁰⁹ send⁷⁹⁷¹ me.

9  And he said,⁵⁵⁹ Go,¹⁹⁸⁰ and tell⁵⁵⁹ this²⁰⁸⁸ people,⁵⁹⁷¹ Hear ye indeed,^{8085 8085} but understand⁹⁹⁵ not;⁴⁰⁸ and see ye indeed,^{7200 7200} but perceive³⁰⁴⁵ not.³⁸⁰⁸

10  Make the heart³⁸²⁰ of this²⁰⁸⁸ people⁵⁹⁷¹ fat,⁸⁰⁸² and make their ears²⁴¹ heavy,³⁵¹³ and shut⁸¹⁷³ their eyes;⁵⁸⁶⁹ lest⁶⁴³⁵ they see⁷²⁰⁰ with their eyes,⁵⁸⁶⁹ and hear⁸⁰⁸⁵ with their ears,²⁴¹ and understand⁹⁹⁵ with their heart,³⁸²⁴ and convert,⁷⁷²⁵ and be healed.⁷⁴⁹⁵

11  Then said⁵⁵⁹ I, Lord,¹³⁶ how long?^{5704 4970} And he answered,⁵⁵⁹ Until^{5704 834} the cities⁵⁸⁹² be wasted⁷⁵⁸² without^{4480 369} inhabitant,³⁴²⁷ and the houses¹⁰⁰⁴ without^{4480 369} man,¹²⁰ and the land¹²⁷ be utterly⁸⁰⁷⁷ desolate,⁷⁵⁸²

12  And the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ have removed men far away,^{7368 853 120} and there be a great⁷²²⁷ forsaking⁵⁸⁰⁵ in the midst⁷¹³⁰ of the land.⁷⁷⁶

13  But yet⁵⁷⁵⁰ in it shall be a tenth,⁶²²⁴ and it shall return,⁷⁷²⁵ and shall be¹⁹⁶¹ eaten:¹¹⁹⁷ as a teil tree,⁴²⁴ and as an oak,⁴³⁷ whose⁸³⁴ substance⁴⁶⁷⁸ is in them, when they cast⁷⁹⁹⁵ their leaves: so the holy⁶⁹⁴⁴ seed²²³³ shall be the substance⁴⁶⁷⁸ thereof.

1 καὶ ἐγένετο τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ οὗ ἀπέθανεν Οζιας ὁ βασιλεύς εἶδον τὸν κύριον καθήμενον ἐπὶ θρόνου ὑψηλοῦ καὶ ἐπηρμένου καὶ πλήρης ὁ οἶκος τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ

2 καὶ σεραφιν εἱστήκεισαν κύκλῳ αὐτοῦ ἓξ πτέρυγες τῷ ἑνὶ καὶ ἓξ πτέρυγες τῷ ἑνί καὶ ταῖς μὲν δυσὶν κατεκάλυπτον τὸ πρόσωπον καὶ ταῖς δυσὶν κατεκάλυπτον τοὺς πόδας καὶ ταῖς δυσὶν ἐπέταντο

3 καὶ ἐκέκραγον ἕτερος πρὸς τὸν ἕτερον καὶ ἔλεγον ἅγιος ἅγιος ἅγιος κύριος σαβαωθ πλήρης πᾶσα ἡ γῆ τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ

4 καὶ ἐπήρθη τὸ ὑπέρθυρον ἀπὸ τῆς φωνῆς ἧς ἐκέκραγον καὶ ὁ οἶκος ἐπλήσθη καπνοῦ

5 καὶ εἶπα ὦ τάλας ἐγώ ὅτι κατανένυγμαι ὅτι ἄνθρωπος ὢν καὶ ἀκάθαρτα χείλη ἔχων ἐν μέσῳ λαοῦ ἀκάθαρτα χείλη ἔχοντος ἐγὼ οἰκῶ καὶ τὸν βασιλέα κύριον σαβαωθ εἶδον τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς μου

6 καὶ ἀπεστάλη πρός με ἓν τῶν σεραφιν καὶ ἐν τῇ χειρὶ εἶχεν ἄνθρακα ὃν τῇ λαβίδι ἔλαβεν ἀπὸ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου

7 καὶ ἥψατο τοῦ στόματός μου καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ ἥψατο τοῦτο τῶν χειλέων σου καὶ ἀφελεῖ τὰς ἀνομίας σου καὶ τὰς ἁμαρτίας σου περικαθαριεῖ

8 καὶ ἤκουσα τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου λέγοντος τίνα ἀποστείλω καὶ τίς πορεύσεται πρὸς τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον καὶ εἶπα ἰδού εἰμι ἐγώ ἀπόστειλόν με

9 καὶ εἶπεν πορεύθητι καὶ εἰπὸν τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ ἀκοῇ ἀκούσετε καὶ οὐ μὴ συνῆτε καὶ βλέποντες βλέψετε καὶ οὐ μὴ ἴδητε

10 ἐπαχύνθη γὰρ ἡ καρδία τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου καὶ τοῖς ὠσὶν αὐτῶν βαρέως ἤκουσαν καὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν ἐκάμμυσαν μήποτε ἴδωσιν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς καὶ τοῖς ὠσὶν ἀκούσωσιν καὶ τῇ καρδίᾳ συνῶσιν καὶ ἐπιστρέψωσιν καὶ ἰάσομαι αὐτούς

11 καὶ εἶπα ἕως πότε κύριε καὶ εἶπεν ἕως ἂν ἐρημωθῶσιν πόλεις παρὰ τὸ μὴ κατοικεῖσθαι καὶ οἶκοι παρὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι ἀνθρώπους καὶ ἡ γῆ καταλειφθήσεται ἔρημος

12 καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα μακρυνεῖ ὁ θεὸς τοὺς ἀνθρώπους καὶ οἱ καταλειφθέντες πληθυνθήσονται ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς

13 καὶ ἔτι ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς ἔστιν τὸ ἐπιδέκατον καὶ πάλιν ἔσται εἰς προνομὴν ὡς τερέβινθος καὶ ὡς βάλανος ὅταν ἐκπέσῃ ἀπὸ τῆς θήκης αὐτῆς

‎1 ‏בִּשְׁנַת־מוֹת֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ עֻזִּיָּ֔הוּ וָאֶרְאֶ֧ה אֶת־אֲדֹנָ֛י יֹשֵׁ֥ב עַל־כִּסֵּ֖א רָ֣ם וְנִשָּׂ֑א וְשׁוּלָ֖יו מְלֵאִ֥ים אֶת־הַהֵיכָֽל׃

‎2 ‏שְׂרָפִ֨ים עֹמְדִ֤ים׀ מִמַּ֙עַל֙ ל֔וֹ שֵׁ֧שׁ כְּנָפַ֛יִם שֵׁ֥שׁ כְּנָפַ֖יִם לְאֶחָ֑ד בִּשְׁתַּ֣יִם׀ יְכַסֶּ֣ה פָנָ֗יו וּבִשְׁתַּ֛יִם יְכַסֶּ֥ה רַגְלָ֖יו וּבִשְׁתַּ֥יִם יְעוֹפֵֽף׃

‎3 ‏וְקָרָ֨א זֶ֤ה אֶל־זֶה֙ וְאָמַ֔ר קָד֧וֹשׁ׀ קָד֛וֹשׁ קָד֖וֹשׁ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת מְלֹ֥א כָל־הָאָ֖רֶץ כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃

‎4 ‏וַיָּנֻ֙עוּ֙ אַמּ֣וֹת הַסִּפִּ֔ים מִקּ֖וֹל הַקּוֹרֵ֑א וְהַבַּ֖יִת יִמָּלֵ֥א עָשָֽׁן׃

‎5 ‏וָאֹמַ֞ר אֽוֹי־לִ֣י כִֽי־נִדְמֵ֗יתִי כִּ֣י אִ֤ישׁ טְמֵֽא־שְׂפָתַ֙יִם֙ אָנֹ֔כִי וּבְתוֹךְ֙ עַם־טְמֵ֣א שְׂפָתַ֔יִם אָנֹכִ֖י יוֹשֵׁ֑ב כִּ֗י אֶת־הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת רָא֥וּ עֵינָֽי׃

‎6 ‏וַיָּ֣עָף אֵלַ֗י אֶחָד֙ מִן־הַשְּׂרָפִ֔ים וּבְיָד֖וֹ רִצְפָּ֑ה בְּמֶ֨לְקַחַ֔יִם לָקַ֖ח מֵעַ֥ל הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃

‎7 ‏וַיַּגַּ֣ע עַל־פִּ֔י וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הִנֵּ֛ה נָגַ֥ע זֶ֖ה עַל־שְׂפָתֶ֑יךָ וְסָ֣ר עֲוֹנֶ֔ךָ וְחַטָּאתְךָ֖ תְּכֻפָּֽר׃

‎8 ‏וָאֶשְׁמַ֞ע אֶת־ק֤וֹל אֲדֹנָי֙ אֹמֵ֔ר אֶת־מִ֥י אֶשְׁלַ֖ח וּמִ֣י יֵֽלֶךְ־לָ֑נוּ וָאֹמַ֖ר הִנְנִ֥י שְׁלָחֵֽנִי׃

‎9 ‏וַיֹּ֕אמֶר לֵ֥ךְ וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ לָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֑ה שִׁמְע֤וּ שָׁמ֙וֹעַ֙ וְאַל־תָּבִ֔ינוּ וּרְא֥וּ רָא֖וֹ וְאַל־תֵּדָֽעוּ׃

‎10 ‏הַשְׁמֵן֙ לֵב־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה וְאָזְנָ֥יו הַכְבֵּ֖ד וְעֵינָ֣יו הָשַׁ֑ע פֶּן־יִרְאֶ֨ה בְעֵינָ֜יו וּבְאָזְנָ֣יו יִשְׁמָ֗ע וּלְבָב֥וֹ יָבִ֛ין וָשָׁ֖ב וְרָ֥פָא לֽוֹ׃

‎11 ‏וָאֹמַ֕ר עַד־מָתַ֖י אֲדֹנָ֑י וַיֹּ֡אמֶר עַ֣ד אֲשֶׁר֩ אִם־שָׁא֨וּ עָרִ֜ים מֵאֵ֣ין יוֹשֵׁ֗ב וּבָתִּים֙ מֵאֵ֣ין אָדָ֔ם וְהָאֲדָמָ֖ה תִּשָּׁאֶ֥ה שְׁמָמָֽה׃

‎12 ‏וְרִחַ֥ק יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־הָאָדָ֑ם וְרַבָּ֥ה הָעֲזוּבָ֖ה בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃

‎13 ‏וְע֥וֹד בָּהּ֙ עֲשִׂ֣רִיָּ֔ה וְשָׁ֖בָה וְהָיְתָ֣ה לְבָעֵ֑ר כָּאֵלָ֣ה וְכָאַלּ֗וֹן אֲשֶׁ֤ר בְּשַׁלֶּ֙כֶת֙ מַצֶּ֣בֶת בָּ֔ם זֶ֥רַע קֹ֖דֶשׁ מַצַּבְתָּֽהּ׃ פ

Vul

1 In anno quo mortuus est rex Ozias, vidi Dominum sedentem super solium excelsum et elevatum; et ea quæ sub ipso erant replebant templum.

2 Seraphim stabant super illud: sex alæ uni, et sex alæ alteri; duabus velabant faciem ejus, et duabus velabant pedes ejus, et duabus volabant.

3 Et clamabant alter ad alterum, et dicebant: [Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus Dominus, Deus exercituum;
plena est omnis terra gloria ejus.]

4 Et commota sunt superliminaria cardinum a voce clamantis, et domus repleta est fumo.

5 Et dixi: [Væ mihi, quia tacui,
quia vir pollutus labiis ego sum,
et in medio populi polluta labia habentis ego habito,
et regem Dominum exercituum vidi oculis meis.]

6 Et volavit ad me unus de seraphim, et in manu ejus calculus, quem forcipe tulerat de altari,

7 et tetigit os meum, et dixit: [Ecce tetigit hoc labia tua,
et auferetur iniquitas tua, et peccatum tuum mundabitur.]

8 Et audivi vocem Domini dicentis: [Quem mittam?
et quis ibit nobis?] Et dixi: [Ecce ego, mitte me.]

9 Et dixit: [Vade, et dices populo huic:
Audite audientes, et nolite intelligere;
et videte visionem, et nolite cognoscere.

10 Excæca cor populi hujus,
et aures ejus aggrava,
et oculos ejus claude:
ne forte videat oculis suis,
et auribus suis audiat,
et corde suo intelligat,
et convertatur, et sanem eum.]

11 Et dixi: [Usquequo, Domine?] Et dixit: [Donec desolentur civitates absque habitatore,
et domus sine homine,
et terra relinquetur deserta.

12 Et longe faciet Dominus homines,
et multiplicabitur quæ derelicta fuerat in medio terræ.

13 Et adhuc in ea decimatio,
et convertetur, et erit in ostensionem
sicut terebinthus, et sicut quercus quæ expandit ramos suos;
semen sanctum erit id quod steterit in ea.]
