1  If³⁵⁸⁸ there arise⁶⁹⁶⁵ among⁷¹³⁰ you a prophet,⁵⁰³⁰ or¹⁷⁶ a dreamer²⁴⁹² of dreams,²⁴⁷² and giveth^{5414 413} thee a sign²²⁶ or¹⁷⁶ a wonder,⁴¹⁵⁹

2  And the sign²²⁶ or the wonder⁴¹⁵⁹ come to pass,⁹³⁵ whereof⁸³⁴ he spoke¹⁶⁹⁶ unto⁴¹³ thee, saying,⁵⁵⁹ Let us go¹⁹⁸⁰ after³¹⁰ other³¹² gods,⁴³⁰ which⁸³⁴ thou hast not³⁸⁰⁸ known,³⁰⁴⁵ and let us serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ them;

3  Thou shalt not³⁸⁰⁸ hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto⁴¹³ the words¹⁶⁹⁷ of that¹⁹³¹ prophet,⁵⁰³⁰ or¹⁷⁶ that¹⁹³¹ dreamer²⁴⁹² of dreams:²⁴⁷² for³⁵⁸⁸ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God⁴³⁰ proveth⁵²⁵⁴ you, to know³⁰⁴⁵ whether³⁴²⁶ ye love^{157 853} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God⁴³⁰ with all³⁶⁰⁵ your heart³⁸²⁴ and with all³⁶⁰⁵ your soul.⁵³¹⁵

4  Ye shall walk¹⁹⁸⁰ after³¹⁰ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God,⁴³⁰ and fear³³⁷² him, and keep⁸¹⁰⁴ his commandments,⁴⁶⁸⁷ and obey⁸⁰⁸⁵ his voice,⁶⁹⁶³ and ye shall serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ him, and cleave¹⁶⁹² unto him.

5  And that¹⁹³¹ prophet,⁵⁰³⁰ or¹⁷⁶ that¹⁹³¹ dreamer²⁴⁹² of dreams,²⁴⁷² shall be put to death;⁴¹⁹¹ because³⁵⁸⁸ he hath spoken¹⁶⁹⁶ to turn you away⁵⁶²⁷ from⁵⁹²¹ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ your God,⁴³⁰ which brought you out^{3318 853} of the land^{4480 776} of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and redeemed⁶²⁹⁹ you out of the house^{4480 1004} of bondage,⁵⁶⁵⁰ to thrust⁵⁰⁸⁰ thee out of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the way¹⁸⁷⁰ which⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ thee to walk¹⁹⁸⁰ in. So shalt thou put the evil away^{1197 7451} from the midst^{4480 7130} of thee.

6  If³⁵⁸⁸ thy brother,²⁵¹ the son¹²¹ of thy mother,⁵¹⁷ or¹⁷⁶ thy son,¹¹²¹ or¹⁷⁶ thy daughter,¹³²³ or¹⁷⁶ the wife⁸⁰² of thy bosom,²⁴³⁶ or¹⁷⁶ thy friend,⁷⁴⁵³ which⁸³⁴ is as thine own soul,⁵³¹⁵ entice⁵⁴⁹⁶ thee secretly,⁵⁶⁴³ saying,⁵⁵⁹ Let us go¹⁹⁸⁰ and serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ other³¹² gods,⁴³⁰ which⁸³⁴ thou hast not³⁸⁰⁸ known,³⁰⁴⁵ thou,⁸⁵⁹ nor thy fathers;¹

7  Namely, of the gods^{4480 430} of the people⁵⁹⁷¹ which⁸³⁴ are round about⁵⁴³⁹ you, nigh⁷¹³⁸ unto⁴¹³ thee, or¹⁷⁶ far off⁷³⁵⁰ from⁴⁴⁸⁰ thee, from the one end^{4480 7097} of the earth⁷⁷⁶ even unto⁵⁷⁰⁴ the other end⁷⁰⁹⁷ of the earth;⁷⁷⁶

8  Thou shalt not³⁸⁰⁸ consent¹⁴ unto him, nor³⁸⁰⁸ hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto⁴¹³ him; neither³⁸⁰⁸ shall thine eye⁵⁸⁶⁹ pity^{2347 5921} him, neither³⁸⁰⁸ shalt thou spare,²⁵⁵⁰ neither³⁸⁰⁸ shalt thou conceal^{3680 5921} him:

9  But³⁵⁸⁸ thou shalt surely kill^{2026 2026} him; thine hand³⁰²⁷ shall be¹⁹⁶¹ first⁷²²³ upon him to put him to death,⁴¹⁹¹ and afterwards³¹⁴ the hand³⁰²⁷ of all³⁶⁰⁵ the people.⁵⁹⁷¹

10  And thou shalt stone⁵⁶¹⁹ him with stones,⁶⁸ that he die;⁴¹⁹¹ because³⁵⁸⁸ he hath sought¹²⁴⁵ to thrust thee away⁵⁰⁸⁰ from^{4480 5921} the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God,⁴³⁰ which brought thee out³³¹⁸ of the land^{4480 776} of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ from the house^{4480 1004} of bondage.⁵⁶⁵⁰

11  And all³⁶⁰⁵ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ shall hear,⁸⁰⁸⁵ and fear,³³⁷² and shall do⁶²¹³ no³⁸⁰⁸ more³²⁵⁴ any¹⁶⁹⁷ such wickedness⁷⁴⁵¹ as this²⁰⁸⁸ is among⁷¹³⁰ you.

12  If³⁵⁸⁸ thou shalt hear⁸⁰⁸⁵ say in one²⁵⁹ of thy cities,⁵⁸⁹² which⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God⁴³⁰ hath given⁵⁴¹⁴ thee to dwell³⁴²⁷ there,⁸⁰³³ saying,⁵⁵⁹

13  Certain men,³⁷⁶ the children¹¹²¹ of Belial,¹¹⁰⁰ are gone out³³¹⁸ from among^{4480 7130} you, and have withdrawn^{5080 853} the inhabitants³⁴²⁷ of their city,⁵⁸⁹² saying,⁵⁵⁹ Let us go¹⁹⁸⁰ and serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ other³¹² gods,⁴³⁰ which⁸³⁴ ye have not³⁸⁰⁸ known;³⁰⁴⁵

14  Then shalt thou inquire,¹⁸⁷⁵ and make search,²⁷¹³ and ask⁷⁵⁹² diligently;³¹⁹⁰ and, behold,²⁰⁰⁹ if it be truth,⁵⁷¹ and the thing¹⁶⁹⁷ certain,³⁵⁵⁹ that such²⁰⁶³ abomination⁸⁴⁴¹ is wrought⁶²¹³ among⁷¹³⁰ you;

15  Thou shalt surely smite^{5221 5221 853} the inhabitants³⁴²⁷ of that¹⁹³¹ city⁵⁸⁹² with the edge⁶³¹⁰ of the sword,²⁷¹⁹ destroying it utterly,^{2763 853} and all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ is therein, and the cattle⁹²⁹ thereof, with the edge⁶³¹⁰ of the sword.²⁷¹⁹

16  And thou shalt gather⁶⁹⁰⁸ all³⁶⁰⁵ the spoil⁷⁹⁹⁸ of it into⁴¹³ the midst⁸⁴³² of the street⁷³³⁹ thereof, and shalt burn⁸³¹³ with fire^{784 853} the city,⁵⁸⁹² and all³⁶⁰⁵ the spoil⁷⁹⁹⁸ thereof every whit,³⁶³² for the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God:⁴³⁰ and it shall be¹⁹⁶¹ a heap⁸⁵¹⁰ forever;⁵⁷⁶⁹ it shall not³⁸⁰⁸ be built¹¹²⁹ again.⁵⁷⁵⁰

17  And there shall cleave¹⁶⁹² naught^{3808 3972} of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the cursed thing²⁷⁶⁴ to thine hand:³⁰²⁷ that⁴⁶¹⁶ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ may turn⁷⁷²⁵ from the fierceness^{4480 2740} of his anger,⁶³⁹ and show⁵⁴¹⁴ thee mercy,⁷³⁵⁶ and have compassion⁷³⁵⁵ upon thee, and multiply⁷²³⁵ thee, as⁸³⁴ he hath sworn⁷⁶⁵⁰ unto thy fathers;¹

18  When³⁵⁸⁸ thou shalt hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ to the voice⁶⁹⁶³ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God,⁴³⁰ to keep^{8104 853} all³⁶⁰⁵ his commandments⁴⁶⁸⁷ which⁸³⁴ I⁵⁹⁵ command⁶⁶⁸⁰ thee this day,³¹¹⁷ to do⁶²¹³ that which is right³⁴⁷⁷ in the eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ thy God.⁴³⁰

1 πᾶν ῥῆμα ὃ ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον τοῦτο φυλάξῃ ποιεῖν οὐ προσθήσεις ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸ οὐδὲ ἀφελεῖς ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ

2 ἐὰν δὲ ἀναστῇ ἐν σοὶ προφήτης ἢ ἐνυπνιαζόμενος ἐνύπνιον καὶ δῷ σοι σημεῖον ἢ τέρας

3 καὶ ἔλθῃ τὸ σημεῖον ἢ τὸ τέρας ὃ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς σὲ λέγων πορευθῶμεν καὶ λατρεύσωμεν θεοῖς ἑτέροις οὓς οὐκ οἴδατε

4 οὐκ ἀκούσεσθε τῶν λόγων τοῦ προφήτου ἐκείνου ἢ τοῦ ἐνυπνιαζομένου τὸ ἐνύπνιον ἐκεῖνο ὅτι πειράζει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμᾶς εἰδέναι εἰ ἀγαπᾶτε κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμῶν ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς ὑμῶν

5 ὀπίσω κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν πορεύεσθε καὶ αὐτὸν φοβηθήσεσθε καὶ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ φυλάξεσθε καὶ τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσεσθε καὶ αὐτῷ προστεθήσεσθε

6 καὶ ὁ προφήτης ἐκεῖνος ἢ ὁ τὸ ἐνύπνιον ἐνυπνιαζόμενος ἐκεῖνος ἀποθανεῖται ἐλάλησεν γὰρ πλανῆσαί σε ἀπὸ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τοῦ ἐξαγαγόντος σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου τοῦ λυτρωσαμένου σε ἐκ τῆς δουλείας ἐξῶσαί σε ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἧς ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου πορεύεσθαι ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ ἀφανιεῖς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν

7 ἐὰν δὲ παρακαλέσῃ σε ὁ ἀδελφός σου ἐκ πατρός σου ἢ ἐκ μητρός σου ἢ ὁ υἱός σου ἢ ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ἢ ἡ γυνὴ ἡ ἐν κόλπῳ σου ἢ ὁ φίλος ὁ ἴσος τῆς ψυχῆς σου λάθρᾳ λέγων βαδίσωμεν καὶ λατρεύσωμεν θεοῖς ἑτέροις οὓς οὐκ ᾔδεις σὺ καὶ οἱ πατέρες σου

8 ἀπὸ τῶν θεῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν τῶν περικύκλῳ ὑμῶν τῶν ἐγγιζόντων σοι ἢ τῶν μακρὰν ἀπὸ σοῦ ἀπ᾽ ἄκρου τῆς γῆς ἕως ἄκρου τῆς γῆς

9 οὐ συνθελήσεις αὐτῷ καὶ οὐκ εἰσακούσῃ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ φείσεται ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ οὐκ ἐπιποθήσεις ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ οὐδ᾽ οὐ μὴ σκεπάσῃς αὐτόν

10 ἀναγγέλλων ἀναγγελεῖς περὶ αὐτοῦ αἱ χεῖρές σου ἔσονται ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἐν πρώτοις ἀποκτεῖναι αὐτόν καὶ αἱ χεῖρες παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτῳ

11 καὶ λιθοβολήσουσιν αὐτὸν ἐν λίθοις καὶ ἀποθανεῖται ὅτι ἐζήτησεν ἀποστῆσαί σε ἀπὸ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τοῦ ἐξαγαγόντος σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας

12 καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἀκούσας φοβηθήσεται καὶ οὐ προσθήσουσιν ἔτι ποιῆσαι κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τὸ πονηρὸν τοῦτο ἐν ὑμῖν

13 ἐὰν δὲ ἀκούσῃς ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεών σου ὧν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι κατοικεῖν σε ἐκεῖ λεγόντων

14 ἐξήλθοσαν ἄνδρες παράνομοι ἐξ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀπέστησαν πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν πόλιν αὐτῶν λέγοντες πορευθῶμεν καὶ λατρεύσωμεν θεοῖς ἑτέροις οὓς οὐκ ᾔδειτε

15 καὶ ἐρωτήσεις καὶ ἐραυνήσεις σφόδρα καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀληθὴς σαφῶς ὁ λόγος γεγένηται τὸ βδέλυγμα τοῦτο ἐν ὑμῖν

16 ἀναιρῶν ἀνελεῖς πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ ἐν φόνῳ μαχαίρας ἀναθέματι ἀναθεματιεῖτε αὐτὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ

17 καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῆς συνάξεις εἰς τὰς διόδους αὐτῆς καὶ ἐμπρήσεις τὴν πόλιν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῆς πανδημεὶ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου καὶ ἔσται ἀοίκητος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα οὐκ ἀνοικοδομηθήσεται ἔτι

18 οὐ προσκολληθήσεται ἐν τῇ χειρί σου οὐδὲν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀναθέματος ἵνα ἀποστραφῇ κύριος ἀπὸ θυμοῦ τῆς ὀργῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ δώσει σοι ἔλεος καὶ ἐλεήσει σε καὶ πληθυνεῖ σε ὃν τρόπον ὤμοσεν κύριος τοῖς πατράσιν σου

19 ἐὰν ἀκούσῃς τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου φυλάσσειν πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ ὅσας ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον ποιεῖν τὸ καλὸν καὶ τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου

‎1 ‏אֵ֣ת כָּל־הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָנֹכִי֙ מְצַוֶּ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֔ם אֹת֥וֹ תִשְׁמְר֖וּ לַעֲשׂ֑וֹת לֹא־תֹסֵ֣ף עָלָ֔יו וְלֹ֥א תִגְרַ֖ע מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ פ

‎2 ‏כִּֽי־יָק֤וּם בְּקִרְבְּךָ֙ נָבִ֔יא א֖וֹ חֹלֵ֣ם חֲל֑וֹם וְנָתַ֥ן אֵלֶ֛יךָ א֖וֹת א֥וֹ מוֹפֵֽת׃

‎3 ‏וּבָ֤א הָאוֹת֙ וְהַמּוֹפֵ֔ת אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר אֵלֶ֖יךָ לֵאמֹ֑ר נֵֽלְכָ֞ה אַחֲרֵ֨י אֱלֹהִ֧ים אֲחֵרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־יְדַעְתָּ֖ם וְנָֽעָבְדֵֽם׃

‎4 ‏לֹ֣א תִשְׁמַ֗ע אֶל־דִּבְרֵי֙ הַנָּבִ֣יא הַה֔וּא א֛וֹ אֶל־חוֹלֵ֥ם הַחֲל֖וֹם הַה֑וּא כִּ֣י מְנַסֶּ֞ה יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ אֶתְכֶ֔ם לָדַ֗עַת הֲיִשְׁכֶ֤ם אֹֽהֲבִים֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם בְּכָל־לְבַבְכֶ֖ם וּבְכָל־נַפְשְׁכֶֽם׃

‎5 ‏אַחֲרֵ֨י יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֛ם תֵּלֵ֖כוּ וְאֹת֣וֹ תִירָ֑אוּ וְאֶת־מִצְוֹתָ֤יו תִּשְׁמֹ֙רוּ֙ וּבְקֹל֣וֹ תִשְׁמָ֔עוּ וְאֹת֥וֹ תַעֲבֹ֖דוּ וּב֥וֹ תִדְבָּקֽוּן׃

‎6 ‏וְהַנָּבִ֣יא הַה֡וּא א֣וֹ חֹלֵם֩ הַחֲל֨וֹם הַה֜וּא יוּמָ֗ת כִּ֣י דִבֶּר־סָ֠רָה עַל־יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֜ם הַמּוֹצִ֥יא אֶתְכֶ֣ם׀ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֗יִם וְהַפֹּֽדְךָ֙ מִבֵּ֣ית עֲבָדִ֔ים לְהַדִּֽיחֲךָ֙ מִן־הַדֶּ֔רֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֧ר צִוְּךָ֛ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ לָלֶ֣כֶת בָּ֑הּ וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ הָרָ֖ע מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃

‎7 ‏כִּ֣י יְסִֽיתְךָ֡ אָחִ֣יךָ בֶן־אִ֠מֶּךָ אֽוֹ־בִנְךָ֨ אֽוֹ־בִתְּךָ֜ א֣וֹ׀ אֵ֣שֶׁת חֵיקֶ֗ךָ א֧וֹ רֵֽעֲךָ֛ אֲשֶׁ֥ר כְּנַפְשְׁךָ֖ בַּסֵּ֣תֶר לֵאמֹ֑ר נֵֽלְכָ֗ה וְנַֽעַבְדָה֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹ֣א יָדַ֔עְתָּ אַתָּ֖ה וַאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃

‎8 ‏מֵאֱלֹהֵ֣י הָֽעַמִּ֗ים אֲשֶׁר֙ סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם הַקְּרֹבִ֣ים אֵלֶ֔יךָ א֖וֹ הָרְחֹקִ֣ים מִמֶּ֑ךָּ מִקְצֵ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ וְעַד־קְצֵ֥ה הָאָֽרֶץ׃

‎9 ‏לֹא־תֹאבֶ֣ה ל֔וֹ וְלֹ֥א תִשְׁמַ֖ע אֵלָ֑יו וְלֹא־תָח֤וֹס עֵֽינְךָ֙ עָלָ֔יו וְלֹֽא־תַחְמֹ֥ל וְלֹֽא־תְכַסֶּ֖ה עָלָֽיו׃

‎10 ‏כִּ֤י הָרֹג֙ תַּֽהַרְגֶ֔נּוּ יָֽדְךָ֛ תִּֽהְיֶה־בּ֥וֹ בָרִֽאשׁוֹנָ֖ה לַהֲמִית֑וֹ וְיַ֥ד כָּל־הָעָ֖ם בָּאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃

‎11 ‏וּסְקַלְתּ֥וֹ בָאֲבָנִ֖ים וָמֵ֑ת כִּ֣י בִקֵּ֗שׁ לְהַדִּֽיחֲךָ֙ מֵעַל֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ הַמּוֹצִיאֲךָ֛ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם מִבֵּ֥ית עֲבָדִֽים׃

‎12 ‏וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יִשְׁמְע֖וּ וְיִֽרָא֑וּן וְלֹֽא־יוֹסִ֣פוּ לַעֲשׂ֗וֹת כַּדָּבָ֥ר הָרָ֛ע הַזֶּ֖ה בְּקִרְבֶּֽךָ׃ ס

‎13 ‏כִּֽי־תִשְׁמַ֞ע בְּאַחַ֣ת עָרֶ֗יךָ אֲשֶׁר֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֛ לָשֶׁ֥בֶת שָׁ֖ם לֵאמֹֽר׃

‎14 ‏יָצְא֞וּ אֲנָשִׁ֤ים בְּנֵֽי־בְלִיַּ֙עַל֙ מִקִּרְבֶּ֔ךָ וַיַּדִּ֛יחוּ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵ֥י עִירָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר נֵלְכָ֗ה וְנַעַבְדָ֛ה אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יְדַעְתֶּֽם׃

‎15 ‏וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֧ וְחָקַרְתָּ֧ וְשָׁאַלְתָּ֖ הֵיטֵ֑ב וְהִנֵּ֤ה אֱמֶת֙ נָכ֣וֹן הַדָּבָ֔ר נֶעֶשְׂתָ֛ה הַתּוֹעֵבָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את בְּקִרְבֶּֽךָ׃

‎16 ‏הַכֵּ֣ה תַכֶּ֗ה אֶת־יֹֽשְׁבֵ֛י הָעִ֥יר ההוא הַהִ֖יא לְפִי־חָ֑רֶב הַחֲרֵ֨ם אֹתָ֧הּ וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֛הּ וְאֶת־בְּהֶמְתָּ֖הּ לְפִי־חָֽרֶב׃

‎17 ‏וְאֶת־כָּל־שְׁלָלָ֗הּ תִּקְבֹּץ֮ אֶל־תּ֣וֹךְ רְחֹבָהּ֒ וְשָׂרַפְתָּ֨ בָאֵ֜שׁ אֶת־הָעִ֤יר וְאֶת־כָּל־שְׁלָלָהּ֙ כָּלִ֔יל לַיהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ וְהָיְתָה֙ תֵּ֣ל עוֹלָ֔ם לֹ֥א תִבָּנֶ֖ה עֽוֹד׃

‎18 ‏וְלֹֽא־יִדְבַּ֧ק בְּיָדְךָ֛ מְא֖וּמָה מִן־הַחֵ֑רֶם לְמַעַן֩ יָשׁ֨וּב יְהוָ֜ה מֵחֲר֣וֹן אַפּ֗וֹ וְנָֽתַן־לְךָ֤ רַחֲמִים֙ וְרִֽחַמְךָ֣ וְהִרְבֶּ֔ךָ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖ע לַאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃

‎19 ‏כִּ֣י תִשְׁמַ֗ע בְּקוֹל֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ לִשְׁמֹר֙ אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֹתָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֛ר אָנֹכִ֥י מְצַוְּךָ֖³ הַיּ֑וֹם לַעֲשׂוֹת֙ הַיָּשָׁ֔ר בְּעֵינֵ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ ס

Vul

1 Si surrexerit in medio tui prophetes, aut qui somnium vidisse se dicat, et prædixerit signum atque portentum,

2 et evenerit quod locutus est, et dixerit tibi: Eamus, et sequamur deos alienos quos ignoras, et serviamus eis:

3 non audies verba prophetæ illius aut somniatoris: quia tentat vos Dominus Deus vester, ut palam fiat utrum diligatis eum an non, in toto corde, et in tota anima vestra.

4 Dominum Deum vestrum sequimini, et ipsum timete, et mandata illius custodite, et audite vocem ejus: ipsi servietis, et ipsi adhærebitis.

5 Propheta autem ille aut fictor somniorum interficietur: quia locutus est ut vos averteret a Domino Deo vestro, qui eduxit vos de terra Ægypti, et redemit vos de domo servitutis: ut errare te faceret de via, quam tibi præcepit Dominus Deus tuus: et auferes malum de medio tui.

6 Si tibi voluerit persuadere frater tuus filius matris tuæ, aut filius tuus vel filia, sive uxor quæ est in sinu tuo, aut amicus, quem diligis ut animam tuam, clam dicens: Eamus, et serviamus diis alienis, quos ignoras tu, et patres tui,

7 cunctarum in circuitu gentium, quæ juxta vel procul sunt, ab initio usque ad finem terræ,

8 non acquiescas ei, nec audias, neque parcat ei oculus tuus ut miserearis et occultes eum,

9 sed statim interficies: sit primum manus tua super eum, et postea omnis populus mittat manum.

10 Lapidibus obrutus necabitur: quia voluit te abstrahere a Domino Deo tuo, qui eduxit te de terra Ægypti, de domo servitutis:

11 ut omnis Israël audiens timeat, et nequaquam ultra faciat quippiam hujus rei simile.

12 Si audieris in una urbium tuarum, quas Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi ad habitandum, dicentes aliquos:

13 Egressi sunt filii Belial de medio tui, et averterunt habitatores urbis suæ, atque dixerunt: Eamus, et serviamus diis alienis quos ignoratis:

14 quare sollicite et diligenter, rei veritate perspecta, si inveneris certum esse quod dicitur, et abominationem hanc opere perpetratam,

15 statim percuties habitatores urbis illius in ore gladii, et delebis eam ac omnia quæ in illa sunt, usque ad pecora.

16 Quidquid etiam supellectilis fuerit, congregabis in medio platearum ejus, et cum ipsa civitate succendes, ita ut universa consumas Domino Deo tuo, et sit tumulus sempiternus. Non ædificabitur amplius,

17 et non adhærebit de illo anathemate quidquam in manu tua: ut avertatur Dominus ab ira furoris sui, et misereatur tui, multiplicetque te sicut juravit patribus tuis,

18 quando audieris vocem Domini Dei tui custodiens omnia præcepta ejus, quæ ego præcipio tibi hodie, ut facias quod placitum est in conspectu Domini Dei tui.
